The house of pirates

This ancient wooden villa, built in the 17th century by the Bugis,
is one of the oldest in Bali.

Abandoned to its fate on the northern coast of the island,
the villa would finally be dismounted and reconstructed locally in the south.
It would once again fall into disuse, until salvaged by adoption for Balam Bali Villa.

The Villa’s rebirth remains simple and beautiful:
A reception area and at the upper level three rooms finished in the warm-toned wood.

In this case, the rooms have all been attributed the name of a volcano:
Agung, Batukaru, Batur.
